That’s something that I actually talked about right off the bat when I read the script; I thought “What a challenge for these six actors that are essentially bound to their chairs or seats and they’re looking at each other from across the room and you’ve got nowhere to hide. Project Ithaca is presented in 1080p High Definition Widescreen 2.40:1. This is surely due to budget constraints with writing tailored to this fact but nonetheless a bit disappointing to a sci-fi fan who wants to know all they can about a unique type of alien portrayed in a film. EM: Wonderful! Imagine Independence Day with a much smaller budget and 5 main characters. The plot was different, not the usual Hollywood seen it before type thing.
“Project Ithaca” is a think movie that carefully connects the details of a rather intensely intricate storyline much in the same way that 2016’s “Arrival” film connected to audiences. So, how does the story hold up? Mostly budgetary sins. The effects are fantastic but nothing else stands out. From there we are treated to excellent performances from Gallanders and his co-stars, who are bound to the wall of the room by tentacles wrapped around their arms and a feeding-tube of sorts inserted in the back of their neck. So Deragh and I did talk and we did chat over lunch one day when we were up there in Sudbury (Canada) to talk about everything but it was interesting because when she’s older Sera she’s not highly communicative. Your scenes with Sera both in the military base and also on the ship you guys did very well at creating that familial sense and paternal love… What was your work with Deragh Campbell (FAIL TO APPEAR, NEVER EAT ALONE) leading up to the filming process? I had the opportunity to view the film and speak with its star, James Gallanders (THE SKULLS II, SHAKE HANDS WITH THE DEVIL) about his role in the film as conflicted military scientist John Brighton. As they each awaken one by one, terrified and confused, demanding answers from one another, they realize they must work together to figure out the situation and discover the purpose of their abduction. Timelines are exchanged that range all over the map. Though Underwater may not have a post-credits scene setting up a sequel to Eubank's deep-sea sci-fi thriller, that doesn't mean this world can't be revisited in a potential follow-up. This track sounds fine, with most of the sounds coming through the center channel as these people all try to figure out what’s going on. So for a lot of the film I wasn’t really able to get through to her; we had a lot of that backstory there but there wasn’t a lot of that back and forth until right near the end of the shoot.

The plot left me confused, but its not its biggest fault - biggest fault (and there are many of them), is that this movie had any character development - i did not care about anyone or anything here. I thought that everybody really stepped up to the plate and did really well across the board. The acting in this one is extremely forced and awkward most of the time. It made you focus and pay attention instead of watering it down to make it simple to understand. The final ending scene was also a bit confusing.
